I certainly wasn't expecting something sooo fantastic tonight! Was disappointed when Paul couldn't go with, but luckily I think I'd been better off with Jon (Dear Jon, I proclaim YOU my favourite artsy-buddy!) The people you hang out with determine the amount of fun you end up having. That's so true.
So after school today, I took bus 75 to Marina Square. Then walked over to Esplanade WaterFront. It was a soundcheck in progress but I stayed to watch anyway :D The musicians were extremely, extremely good. Especially the 2 saxophonists. I think the sax is the sexiest instrument in the world. I checked out the free performances available around the area that evening and I did some planning:
6:15pm - 6:45pm Murmurant by Deviation (France)
7:15pm - 7:45pm Deballage by Deviation (France)
8:45pm - 9:30pm Jiveoholic
So we went for the first performance by Deviation
and OH MY GOSH I LOVE IT SOOO MUCH! This feeling is really, really indescribable!!! The French men (oh, and I learnt from Jon that some Canadians are French too. Ooo....) are very fun and spontaneous. I think that French people have a natural sense of humour. My French teacher Karen was very sweet and humorous too.
They performed at the space just in front of the Outdoor Theatre (which is under construction now). From here they went along the pavement where they stopped, in between the drumming, to sing songs. But there was one particular section that was very inspiring. The main lead took out a piece of paper and asked alot of questions in Mandarin, English and French:
There was one that I remember which was quite funny: Why do people kick balls around and get paid so much? HAHA! So true. I'm always complaining about unfair payment anyway.
After that segment, they handed out drumsticks to the audience and allowed them to play on the drums for abit. I thought it was a great idea to involve the audience. And they seem to be enjoying themselves. They laughed as much as I did! Haha.
Then after the performance, they announced their next performance at the Concourse. Jon and I went for dinner at the Makansutra Gluttons' Bay. But I thought that the food is alright only. The char kway teow I had was a little too salty.
After they wrapped up their performance, I approached the main lead (far right).
'Monsieur, monsieur, je voudrais un picture (photo) avec vous!'
'Un photo?'
'Oui :)'
We were about the take the picture when his colleague (far left) walked past and I asked him to join us. I think he's cute.
'Alors, merci beaucoup! C'est très, très amusant!'
'Vous parlez français?'
'Je parle un peu français!'
'Ah.. bien bien!' (something along the line of 'you speak it well'. I forgot what he said exactly)
Then he said something in French which I couldn't catch and wanted to ask him to repeat, but his other colleague called him away.
'Ah, I'll come back.'
I stayed around while he went to make an announcement about their performance for the following day. Then he walked back in my direction, but he seemed to hesitate about coming over so I just waved at him.
'Au revoir!'
'Au revoir!'
Aahhh.... I felt sooo high!!! Being able to make use of the language that I'm learning! Haha! At least this skill is not for nothing. I'm going to make more new French friends.
So then we walked over back to the WaterFront to catch Jiveoholic. But it was going to finish in 10 minutes and the next show was at 8:45pm. With nothing to do, Jon suggested going to a very special place. Hmm.... Where could it be?
'Marina South Pier'
'Where's that?'
'Where the old Clifford pier used to be.'
'Oh. Hey, let's go there! Will it take long? Maybe we could go and catch the last show at 9pm'
'Hmm... We could try. Let's run now!'
We took the MRT to Marina Bay and took bus 402 (which only goes there). The place looks like a ferry terminal (erm.. actually it is...), with 3 storeys. All the immigration stuff on the 1st floor, a mini foodcourt and a restaurant on the 2nd floor, and lastly on the 3rd floor, according to Jon, is a 'carpeted grass with a bar on the side'. Sounds amazing right? Well I couldn't imagine it myself until I went to see for myself.
I looked from the 1st floor and saw a pretty view of the sea and the floating Italian restaurant.
'Nice right?'
'Yeah, it's nice!'
'Wait till we go upstairs.'
We took the lift up, and when we emerged out of the lift, I was desperately gasping for breath. The view of the sky was magnificent (perfect for a starry starry night - which wasn't tonight); the sea view was breathtaking (the floating restaurant looks so cool, and on the other side is Indonesia); the mini bar was extremely sexy (running out of adjectives) because of the comfy cushions and candlelit tables and rustic feel about it. Mmmmm.... Amazing stuff. We lied down on the carpet grass, and I learnt more about night photography and this is what I tried to capture:
I was still sooo extremely high. Once again my pride for Singapore surfaced and I felt really happy and most importantly, worry-free. I didn't have anything to think about except what a beautiful place Singapore has become.
We stayed half an hour admiring the stars and talking about photography. Then we left to go back for the mini concert.
During the soundtcheck, they sounded quite good but only the guy lead was singing. Now during the concert, Singapore Idol girl Matilda completed the remaining group and boy was she good! That's what I call star quality, man. Very jazzy voice and perfectly strong vocal control. Jiveoholic would make a fantastic band, but if only the male lead could match up. He did alot of voice acrobats, but his voice was soft and not strong enough. It's a pity indeed. But I suppose it would be good enough. I'm no Idol judge.
Jon reminded me that the Great Singapore Sale was starting tonight and that there's also the late night shopping. He wanted to buy a new Mp3 too, so we walked back to Marina Square only to find all the shops closed. Geez. So much for midnight shopping. It wasn't even past 11pm.
OH MY GOSH. What a day! Still indescribable! Haha! Mmmm.... I'll end up here. Too much info! HAha.

Reality bites, oh so hard. What the fuck have I been doing with my life?!
But I'm glad I've friends, new friends (angels in disguise) to help put some truth into my fairytale world. What's to say now?
In an eggshell, I've ruined my life, all because of some bastards. Fucktards. Morons. (Not applicable to nice guys) Who in the world said I cannot live without them? Who in the world planted that stupid idea in me?! Wait. I should be the one in the wrong because I believed them.... Erm.... Ok, however the cycle starts....
Well, this post is not about how I ruined my life. I'd rather it be about my reconciliation, my realization, my gratitude, my appreciation.
Reconciliation
Forgiveness is the key. I've stopped blaming myself about my previous relationship, but somehow still can't stop thinking about it. I kind of miss it. But now I've found out the most crucial thing about relationships, and I know that I definitely am not ready for it no matter how I lust for it.
Realization
Ok, so realization has hit me hard and left me with a shattered heart. But what is done cannot be undone. Regret should not be in my mind, but instead, repair. So here I am building my heart a little workshop to help myself get back to REALITY.
Gratitude
There are indeed some good people in this world. They come to you instead. And I'm talking about the angels. My mum told me that angels come to aid us in life, through the simplest of actions by the people around us. The main thing is to be alert to every little thing that would help us; so look out for signs that you hold more than a second staring at. It might just be the answer.
Appreciation
I cannot say thank you enough in this world. And I've got soooo many people to say thank you to. And the 'I miss yous'. Thank you for being my confidantes, my best friends, my angels, and for always being there for me :) BIG HUGS.
I talk too much. Shall end here!
