Shopping!
1:23 AM
I had another fanta-bulous (fantastic and fabulous) time shopping again! But this time, it's with my best friend-cum-sista Janice.
We met up at about 11am at Kembangan and then went to Bugis. We had our brunch first at the food court there (Yummy!). Then we went out to look for new Easter clothings. Unfortunately, it slipped my mind that Bugis does not have alot of formal clothes, so we detoured to Paya Lebar instead. The This Fashion outlet there is not as big as the one in Tampines (at least to me), but there sure are lots and lots of lovely tops (especially those halter and spaghetti tops - my favourite!). The dresses there are quite pretty too, but sadly, too long for a small fry like
moi.
(It is sooo heart-wrenching to window-shop!) But at least I'm being helpful by suggesting some clothes to Janice. I did pick a sweet something for her. I'm not going to reveal what it is.
Halfway when I was so engrossed with shopping and carrying all our clothes, I didn't notice my phone ringing until it stopped ringing (Wierd huh?). Haha.... It was J. So cute. Called to ask me out. (Hey Don, you better get to work if you want the girl!) But such a pity that I couldn't make it to go then. We'll make it another time ok? Sorry about it. Ok, back to shopping.
In the end (I just couldn't resist the temptation), I still bought something. 2 T-shirts. That is exactly the same as Janice's except for the colour. We had to find something in common that so that people can tell that we are close friends. Haha....
But at least both of us went home happy. I'm sooo going to go back to that outlet to get more clothes next time. Then I'm going to buy a bigger wardrobe to fit everything inside. HA.

Forever a1
6:03 AM
I woke up at 9:30am on bright Saturday morning, supposedly to go for a lovely, early breakfast. But someone didn't wake up this early, so I worked on my cross-stitch while listening to a1. Remember them? Bet you don't. Listening to their songs at that time sure brought back fond memories. I recalled how I used to be able to remember every single word in the lyrics and sing along to the music. There was once my brother and I sang the song One More Try for a contest, but unfortunately didn't win. I think I sent it in too late (We recorded the song one day before submission dateline!)
But a1 has been, and will always be my favourite boyband. It is just too bad that they have disbanded. My favourite band. But at least they don't sing cheesy love songs like other boybands. The four who make up a1 are talented (means they play musical instruments and can sing! - my kind of guys); and they write their own songs. Their songs have meaning too. If you try then at least you'll see. The you'll never regret the things we never did. Well, at least I think it is meaningful.
Unfortunately out of the 4 albums they have, I only own 2: Here we come and a1:The A-list; one of which I took from my cousin (Thanks!). I'm making it my lifetime goal to own all four albums eventually.
And also quite unfortunate for me, I missed 2 concerts that they performed in tiny Singapore. If I ever have a grudge against my parents, this would be the only one I'll never forgive. Haha....
Those who share my music would like to check out this webby about the band, otherwise you can just read this like a news update. Now, I'm going back to my music if you don't mind.

Failure to launch
9:19 AM

Failure to Launch is an incredible movie! Just as well that I won the tickets to this movie. But even if I hadn't won the tickets, I would still pay to watch this romantic comedy because it is worth every single cent. It is not a long movie (about 1 & a half hours), but I wasn't looking forward to the show ending; not unlike other movies where the ending is predictable and you look forward to the show ending with your prediction. This movie has an equal share of romance, humour and tear-jerking moments to keep you at the edge of your seat. Well, not literally, but I just mean that this movie will have you craving for more.
And this is a good movie to catch if you want to see McConaughey's hot bod. There are lots of scenes with this nicely tanned upper torso. And there's a nearly nude scene. Gave me quite a shock there. Never expected it. But unless you have a fetish for mature men, I think you'll find this scene a turn-off too.
Both Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker make quite a compatible couple for this movie. But my favourite character is Kit. She is sooo cute. The way she speaks. All the trouble for a mocking bird.... Haha.... Had me laughing non-stop.
So, if you ever have spare time, no.... Make some spare time and catch this movie. I'm serious!

Once again, thanks Haikal, for the company. And you're seriously one lucky guy. I'm waiting for a treat from you. Haha.... And teach me how to play hockey too!

Why?
3:03 AM
What does the guy mean when he ruffles a girl's hair?
Is it because:
  1. He likes doing it.
  2. He is flirting with her.
  3. He's doing it for the sake of fun.
  4. Just teasing.
  5. He likes her?
Sigh. But of course I would love that attention. I wish I was that character Suzuna in Love for Venus. (Thanks for introducing me to this comic, Augustine. I'm so stuck to this comic now. Sure pays to have a Jap anime lover friend. Haha....) Comic characters have such a blissful life. Their troubles are not even real.
It's sooo hard to find someone who can be fun and be a boyfriend at the same time. Sigh. Pourquoi?! It can be sooo boring being single. But bachelorette-hood has its advantage. I mean, going shopping with my mum (and I'm not paying!), taking neoprints, indulging in cheesecake (the best is at Q Bread in Tampines); it sure is better than spending loads of money at the movies with a boyfriend. Not that I don't like it, but it's such a pity for the guy who has to spend so much. Haha....
But no point hoping for the dream guy. I'm sure one will appear. Just not now. But if you think you can be my boyfriend, you ought to have (drumroll): Musical Talent (which includes singing). That's all. But of course good looks is an added advantage. =P

Slide away....
10:28 PM
Well, there's no doubt that I'm looking for Mr Right, but I forgot to add that I'm not looking for him now. Good guys are hard to come by. Anyway, here's my review of yet another fabulous movie.

It is a little confusing in the beginning. Ok, basically in this movie, Gwyneth Paltrow's character Helen, lives 2 lives at the same time. No, she's not suffering from split personality. Both her lives are differentiated by a small coincidence: whether or not she catches the train home.
I thought the storyline was marvellous. I mean, I had never thought about it. In the movie, the Helen who caught the train home found her boyfriend cheating on her with his ex-girlfriend, whereas the other Helen who missed the train did not.
And then it's for you to find out what happened to the both of them.
There is sweet romance and hilarity in this wonderful movie. I think this movie came out a very long time ago. But no matter, go rent this movie, or borrow it from me and watch this. I give this movie 4/5 stars.

I loved the character John Hannah played in the movie. It so happened that I was watching The Mummy yesterday, and he was starring in that movie as well. I had a good time laughing because his character in The Mummy was quite cute and funny. John Hannah plays James in Sliding Doors. James has a very cute British accent and he has a good sense of humour. He's also very romantic (in the movie of course) and just sweet. Ahhh. Sounds perfect to me. Haha.... But I think John Hannah is a pretty good actor. He could imitate the British accent quite well, considering he's Scottish. Haha....

Here's wishing everybody fun as I spend my last week of the holidays. =(

Shopping!
Wah! I had such an exhilarating time yesterday. Grandma wanted to buy my birthday present. So of course I chose my favourite. We (Grandma, Cheryl, Charlene, Joshua & me) went to Marina Square to shop.
First we took our brunch at Marina Square Food Loft, then we went to search for my present. I already knew what I wanted so I went straight to the shop. Unfortunately they didn't have the bag I wanted, so I went for another bag instead. But it's just as lovely. Man, I love Billabong!
We continued down till we reached Ice Lemon Tee. Charlene found a lovely top and went to try it on. Then Cheryl and I went to find something to try too; for the fun of trying. Haha.... I picked a blue top and a mini mini skirt. (I couldn't try white.) Haha.... They all said the top was too ordinary, so I just took the skirt. Cheryl bought a nice green top.
Then we carried on to Zoom 3. Ah-ha! I showed my brother a nice yellow shirt and tried to persuade him to try it. They didn't have his size. But Cheryl managed to persuade him to try on other shirts. When he came out of the fitting room, our reaction was like 'Wow!!!!!' Suddenly, he was the most handsome man on earth. Haha.... I wanted to disown him at that moment just so I could date him. But that's ridiculous of course. But he looked good in shirts. Now I'm convinced shirts don't look good only on tall guys.
We went walking some more around Marina Square. And finally went to Esplanade to rest. Haagen Daaz doesn't have any space for the 5 of us, so we went to Mrs. Fields instead. Man, my feet hurts after all that walking. But I blame myself for wearing heels.... We took pictures there. Haha....
I was so sleepy after that shopping trip that we just went home after dropping by my cousin's place. Haha....
Now I'll leave you with some pictures. Girls, I'm taking Donovan for myself! Haha....

The Billabong bag I bought. And yes, trying too hard to be a model. Haha....

My handsome brother.

Models for a day. Advertising the stuff we bought for ourselves.

Date Movie
7:05 AM
Man, this is one hilarious movie. Really made my day. Night, rather. Haha.... I like it because there are copies of scenes from other movies like Wedding Crashers and Meet the Fockers. And because of the sexual humour of course, which is why it was rated. Damn funny....
But I wouldn't recommend wasting even $7 on this movie. Wait for the VCD to come out.

12 March 2006 - Augustine's Birthday Dinner
Bon Anniversaire, Augustine!
Thanks for inviting me to your birthday dinner. Food was great and it was definitely fun. Please thank your Dad and Grandpa for me. And I'll pass you your present another day. Sorry about that.
Pub's the life, man! I had my first cup of whiskey (Black Label) with soda water I think. Wasn't that bad. Hey, your dad's cool. He can sing! Haha.... Anyway, place's rather cosy though it's small. I could live there! Haha....
Hope you enjoyed yourself as much as we did, laughing and singing. Enjoy life! HAHA....

Back to the Old times....
6:56 PM
It really is fun to be looking at old photos. I have to thank my dear auntie Angela. If not for Royston's project on Family Tree, I would never have seen ALL my old photos again. But I wish I had someone to laugh with and share the memories with. It's stupide to be laughing with myself.... Here anyway, World. I'll share with you instead, my old pictures. The cute ones.

Check out my hair! My trademark hair according to my dear auntie Angela. I'm 1 year old.

That's me again! Like some Bollywood actress. Only I'm hugging the wall, not the tree.

My dearest brother and I. There's Mr Grouchy in red.

Hope you had as much fun as I had seeing my old pictures. It's time you went to see your old pictures too and re-live the past. Have fun!

Changi Airport at its best
7:24 PM
Frankenstein (you chose the nick yourself, not that I'm evil), this blog entry is dedicated to you! And CHOU Family of course. I had an amazing time yesterday.
Started the day with Chillout@Zaty's ( sound like some club....but no.). Yen Leng, Annice, Yingxiao and of course Zaty and me were there. We watched Nanny McPhee, then took a thousand photos. As usual. Cameras are a girl's best weapon. We are powerless without it, right? Haha.... Then we (Annice, Yingxiao, Zaty and me) went out for dinner at Phin's Steakhouse at Tampines Mall. Phin's was not that expensive (I think I was too rich yesterday...). And it was good! We stayed till past 8pm then we went to the arcade. I watched Zaty play Protrucker. Man she's one dangerous driver! She exploded a couple of small cars. Haha.... Then we walked to the Interchange at about 9pm plus. Zaty had to go home so we parted there. I didn't want to go home and Yingxiao kindly accompanied me. We decided to go K Box, but then decided not to since Yingxiao couldn't stay out too long either. We went to the pool place at the Pavillion. Man, I was intimidated by all the people there. I bet they were experts at the game. Suddenly we don't feel like playing anymore, then we went out. Hmm....
We went to Swenson's instead (I ate the Ice House. Too sweet). It was about 9:50pm. Haha.... Then I smsed Frankenstein if he wanted to watch a midnight movie. Unfortunately there wasn't a midnight movie. At all! Then I asked if he wanted to hangout for supper. (Anything to not go home.) Actually I was surprised that he said ok. (I mean Com'on, if you had just finished work, then you receive an sms to go hangout, and you're damn tired, and you happen to be the meanest person in the world, you wouldn't want to accompany somebody just because she is bored right?)
Great! Now all I have to do is wait. Well, Yingxiao is still beside me when I was doing all that sms-ing. She didn't mind staying a little longer, so we began a discussion about guys in general. Then I told her my life story (just kidding!). I told her about my relationships; we talked about future relationships too. Haha.... We left Swenson's at about 10:30pm if I'm not wrong. I walked Yingxiao to her bus stop then we said our goodbyes there.
Then I went to MacDonald's to read my newspaper as I waited for time to pass. At 11pm I took the train to Changi Airport. By the time I reached the Starbucks there, it was 11:45pm. (Haha.... I know the times because I like my Mickey Mouse watch....) I bought an Iced Tall Vanilla Latte (my favourite drink in Starbucks so far because I haven't tried anything else.) The guy serving me actually thought I was there to study. Hmmm.... At 12 in the morning?! (The reason? - Because I looked young. Why thank you! Haha....)
Frankenstein came about 12:05am. We stayed at Starbucks and chatted for awhile. I think it was about 1am then we went to the Viewing Mall at T2. It is renovated and I couldn't see anything.... So we took the Sky Train to T1 (so fun! like when I was a kid), and went to the Viewing Mall there. As we were walking around, I realized that it's very familiar and it hit me that the place we were at (T1 Viewing Mall), is actually the place that my family and I used to hangout very often when I was a kid! We always went to the Swenson's there and my mum would order Chocolate Mint ice-cream. =) It was like reminiscing about the past. Everything just came back to me. Hmm....
Oh yeah, back to the story. the Viewing Mall at T1 is so much better. I managed to catch a few planes departing and landing. Then I remembered the time I first took the plane to Langkawi. It was wonderful! As I see the plane going up, I just imagined myself in the plane again. I liked that feeling alot. The whole time, I was just admiring the people who were boarding the planes. So lucky. I wish I was there in the plane with them. I want to be the richest in the whole world and own my own aeroplane and a pilot, so he can fly me to anywhere I want. Haha....
Oh yeah. I learnt alot of things this night. I had absolutely no idea that an aeroplane cannot reverse until Frankenstein told me! Then I watched as this small vehicle push and pull the aeroplane which was a few times bigger than it. The first thing that came into mind was WOW! And I learnt about the way the people handled the baggages, and how the catered food is transferred to the plane. And once again, I had no idea that all three classes (First Class, Business Class and Economy Class) have different food. And I learnt about the different types of planes too. There are small planes with one aisle, the normal ones have 2 aisles. And there are planes with a half top deck and the new plane is the one with the full upper deck. I wish I can see the inside of it!
Singapore has once again proved herself worthy. As I stood watching the planes, I just realized that we really have come sooo far. The money coming in, the technology, the buzz; Singapore is just so happening!
We watched the planes and the people come and go from 1am plus till 3am plus. Then I had to go home. Have to wake early today. Lots of stuff to do. Sigh. Back to reality. I sincerely wish I can just stay in the past like last time. Frankenstein sent me home in the cab (Sorry about it. I'll remember to bring cab fare next time. I owe you one). I returned to reality at 3:45am. And slept at 4:30am.

Thanks sooo much everybody for this day! Had a fantastic time. Looking forward to hanging out with all of you again! So many plans, no time! Argh! So, Sentosa, clubbing, KL, Langkawi, Pangkor, chalets.... Here we come!

Moulin Rouge
6:14 AM

Voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir?
Do you know it actually means Do you want to sleep with me this evening?
I got quite a shock because I was reading the chinese subtitles. I'm sure that I understood what it meant. Can't remember what was written, but I'm absolutely sure of the meaning. And consulting my French dictionary also confirms its meaning. No wonder Pei Pei said it meant something almost vulgar. Ok, haha....
But then again, combine Can Can dancers, rich men and money, a script about love and jealousy, and eroticism, there you get Moulin Rouge, which actually is a place in Paris. Hmmm....
I loved that movie. Especially the humour in the show although it was a tragic love story. It's so saddening that Satine died in the end. But I liked the fact that it is a musical (and I love musicals - aka Bollywood). This is the first time that I have watched the whole movie. The other times I just watched bits and pieces from the movie.
I would recommend watching this movie if you like musicals, music and dance. It's a lovely show not to be missed. Thanks Cathlene, for introducing me to this movie! Now I wouldn't miss it for anything!
