Kindness goes a long way

17 novembre 2009Kindness indeed goes a long way. After a tiring day at work, I was on my way home. Again I'd forgotten my umbrella, and was walking in the drizzle with a bag over my head. I was nearing the next sheltered block when suddenly an umbrella appeared before me and I heard 'I'm going that way too.' I was shocked, but pleasantly surprised!
The first kind act done for me was when I dropped my favourite red Billabong wallet after work. I cried buckets until I received a call from my colleague who said someone asked about me. Then LTA Md Firdaus Ramli of the Singapore Army got in touch with me and came all the way to my place to return me my wallet. Then the second was the time I got a lift home when I got caught in the pouring rain. And this is the third kind act that I remember.
Now I'm feeling so guilty because I definitely wasn't being very kind to my kids today. Concert rehearsal was madness, and I got so frustrated that I was shouting at my kids and throwing my bag when we got back. I need to do something about this temper of mine...
Anyway, to all the other people who've always been so kind to me, I want to let you know I greatly appreciate it :)

MC-ed agaaaaaain. Diarrhoea this time... Worked from home today, with a headache. Sigh.... Some idiot irritated me on MSN yesterday. (READ: Speak when you're angry, and you'll make the best speech you'll ever regret - Lawrence J Peter. Which is why, I DON'T REGRET. Well, I don't NEED to regret. The Lyra Lifestyle

Since my high fever on Saturday night (Ronald I miss you already!), I've been living the Lyra Lifestyle. Stay in bed the whooooole day. If I didn't get up with a headache, I rushed to the toilet with nausea. Sigh... Back to work tomorrow. Hope I'll still be alive...Labels: sick

I wish to express my utmost appreciation and thanks to Mr Ivan Hoe, driver of SES506L for being the only kind soul to help me today. I was having a very bad day because I had forgotten my umbrella and one of my sandals broke. I wanted to cab home immediately so I stood outside Sims Lane in Aljunied waiting for a cab. A cab did stop, but I was not going his way so I had to wait for another. I was getting drenched and feeling worse when a car pulled over and Mr Ivan offered his umbrella which he realized he did not have, and then offered to send me home instead. I am honoured to meet such gracious and generous people. Many thanks!I miss a certain someone... It was extremely great to be able to hear your voice today. Bisous.

Going to miss my joyride

What a weekend! Went for my 80's themed company Dinner & Dance dressed in my most outrageous clothes. That's me, and the guy in the centre with the GEEK specs is my boss.
Rented a car for this weekend and I was having all the fun ferrying people about Singapore. Got lost even with a GPS (navigation doesn't work). I'm going to miss you Nissan Sunny!
Went in early to Boiler Room and managed to check out the pretty cool deco. Met Edz (way cool outfits!) Missed the performance (Miss you Joey and Gino!) and it took so long for the music in PowerHouse to warm up. Movida wasn't very crowded but I got pulled to dance by this half naked and really high, woman dancing with her white guy. Scary! I'm really glad I don't drink to that extent anymore... Please remind me not to...
That's me as Ms Spider. Forgot my black gloves though. Spent halloween outside MacDonald's near the 'beach' at Vivocity laughing with Doreen, Samantha, Peilin, Desmond, Marcus and his friends. St James had a helluva crowd and I was too tired to go back...
Met Cheryl to pass some things to her today and was going to be on my way to Ikea Alexandra to meet Davio for lunch. Got some route advice and a map, but somehow still managed to get lost on the BKE. Ended up past Derek's house, Ngee Ann Poly and Ravin's place. well, at least I've seen some new roads.
As McDonald's says it 'C'est tout ce que j'aime!'
